Little Trip to TK Maxx

Last week, I went to TK Maxx with my Nanna and Auntie. I've never been a big fan of the store as I find it very messy because of that factor it's hard to look around.

I wasn't really expecting to find too much but having said that I left with these 2 items.

Dianne Brill Eye Lingerie Eye Shadow in Peekaboo Lace
I was such a big fan of Dianne Brill products, that is until they got rid of the counter in Harvey Nichols in Dundrum. When I spotted this eyeshadow and seen that it was only €6.99; I couldn't leave it behind. It's a gorgeous golden pink shade which I love. The packaging is also lovely as you can see from the picture above.

Card Box
This was a random buy. I seen it as I was queueing to purchase my eyeshadow and I fell in love with it. It contains 12 cards in two different designs which both look very pretty. I'm not one to write cards to people but I thought the box itself was gorgeous. I thought it would look nice in my room and I was right. At €8.99 I couldn't really go wrong.

Have you picked up any bargains from TK Maxx??

Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint

I was so excited when I got the opportunity to try out the new Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint. This is the first product to be released from their much anticipated  Liz Earle Colour range.

The Skin Tint comes in Bare (for light skin tones), Beige (for medium skin tones) and Beach (for medium to dark skin tones). I chose the shade Beige as even though I'm quite fair, I do wear tan now and again.

If you order the Sheer Skin Tint by mail, Liz Earle are providing samples of all three shades with your first purchase. This means you will get the right shade for you before you open your full-size product.

The packaging of the product is beautiful, it's a gorgeous shimmery dark blue. Beige is the perfect match for my skin tone. The formula is very creamy and leaves you with a dewy look which may be a bit too much for people with oily skin like me. A quick dusting of powder will stop this problem. This product contains
mineral UV protection SPF 15 which is believed to be safer for your skin and is less likely to cause sensitivity. I can't wait to bring this on holiday next month.

All in all I really liked this product. The Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint (40ml) launches on Thursday 8th September and retails for €23.75 (£21). You can also preorder yours here . I'm looking forward to seeing more from the Liz Earle Colour range when it is released.

What do you think of the first offering from the Liz Earle Colour Range?

Marie Claire September Issue

Like everyone else this month I purchased Marie Claire. On the cover is the gorgeous Anne Hathaway. I can't wait to see her new film, One Day which is released this week. Unfortunately I haven't read the book but if the ads are anything to go by this will be a Summer hit. Hopefully I can get the boyfriend to tag along with me.

Of course when I seen the gorgeous Ciate nail polish freebie with this month's issue I couldn't resist. Last month, I got a Ciate lipgloss with the magazine which I've been using alot. There are 2 different shades to choose from and I picked My Fair Lady. It's a gorgeous nude colour which would be perfect for work. Expect a NOTD very soon.

There is also a Dove Nourishing Oil Care Express Treatment Conditioner Sample with this issue. Has anybody used it yet?? I can't wait to try this out. This product is a conditioner and a treatment in one so it seems to have a lot to live up to. I haven't tried anything from the Dove Haircare range yet so I'll let you know my thoughts. As this is a travel size product I will probably wait until I go away to use it.

Have you purchased this month's Marie Claire magazine??..What nail polish did you get??

My New Laptop!!:D

Let me introduce you to my new laptop, the Sony VAIO!

I was so in need of a new laptop recently. To say my old one broke is a understatement. The whole screen was hanging off and had to be propped up against a pillow to stay upright. A new laptop was definitely needed to say the least. Hopefully this laptop does me well like my last one which lasted 3 years.

My mom also bought me this gorgeous "Built." laptop sleeve. It's very me, I love the design!! It's definitely worth buying one of these if you have a laptop. I find that it's much easier to store your laptop when you have one of these as it keeps them clean.

I'm very happy with my laptop and I can't wait to start writing more posts for you girls very soon!!

Thank You!!

Hey everyone!!

I hope you all are keeping well. I just thought I'd write a quick post to tell you how much your support means to me. I started this blog nearly 4 months ago it's so hard to believe. It doesn't feel that long at all as the time has really flown by. I started blogging cause I've always loved makeup and beauty products in general. I began reading beauty blogs last year and they looked like so much fun. I don't know why it took so long for me to start my own. One of the reasons, was that if I started one I definitely wanted to do regular posts. Last year I just didn't think I could do that with work and everything going on. That all changed in April this year.

I remember writing the first post I did back in April, it was a review on Simple Kind-To-Eyes Eye Makeup Remover Pen. Looking back on that post now, I can see how far my blog has come. My writing style has changed along the way. My blog is like my child and seeing how it has grown is pretty crazy lol.

I remember when I started blogging only my boyfriend knew. He was so supportive of it from the beginning. I know he gives it a read now and again. I thought this was so nice cause it's not something that you'd automatically think a guy would read. My family also know I have this wee blog, they wouldn't read it but they always ask how I'm getting on with it. I couldn't ask for more support from my family and friends.

Back to you girls, ever since I've started my blog you've all been nothing but supportive of my blog. It really means alot as I didn't know what to expect when I started blogging. You girls have given me so many helpful tips over the last few months and I thank you so much for it. I'm happy you enjoy reading my posts, there will be more coming soon. I just bought a replacement laptop so hopefully I can start doing more regular posts again.

Thanks again,

Weekly Round Up #6

Here's what I got up to last week...

Monday I finalised my plans for Barcelona. Hotels and Flights are booked...YAY!!  I'm heading over in mid-September so I'm hoping the weather is fantastic. I've heard such great things about this lovely city so of course I'm very exciting about going. I will be taking my camera with me so expect a post about my adventures when I'm back. One of my stops in Barcelona will be to Sephora, as it is makeup heaven. Shockingly I've never been to one so it's a necessity that I go. If there is anywhere in particular I should when I'm there??

Tuesday My room is finally complete. My new floors and shelves look great. I'm still in the process of putting all my belongings back in my room. All my stuff has been in my sister's old room for a while so needless to say my room still looks a mess. My last Shopaholic's Journey post before my holiday also went up today.

Wednesday I met up with my lovely sister and my nephew. I hadn't seen them for an age as I've just been so busy. It's always nice to see my nephew as he's getting so big. It's weird that he's going to be one in 2 weeks, I have no idea where the time has gone. It's really cute cause he's beginning to walk a little and say little words here and there.

Thursday My mom came home from work with these lovely goodies. Her lovely friend got them for me which I thought was so nice. As you can see there is a few different products from the brands Catrice and Essence. One of the products she gave me isn't pictured above and it's the Essence Lash Mania Volume Mascara. It's fab and I have been using it everyday since I got it.

Friday I went to see the new Planet of the Apes movie, Rise Of the Apes with my boyfriend, Paddy. I don't want to give to much of this movie away which I have a big habit of doing. What I can tell you is that this movie is really good. I wasn't too keen on going cause I didn't like the last one with Mark Wahlberg but this one is nothing like it. This movie features James Franco (swoon, pictured above) and the beautiful Frieda Pinto who both play their parts incredibly well. This is definitely a Summer must-see movie!!

Sadly I was working Saturday and Sunday so I have nothing to exciting to report about my weekend!!

What did you girls get up to??

Wish I never bought it!! #1 Bliss Lid + Lash Wash Remover

Recently I've become a fan of Bliss. I'm in love with their body butters (smell amazing) especially Lemon & Sage. So when I was looking for an eye makeup remover I decided to try their offering. Which turned out to be a big mistake.

I've had Bliss Lid + Lash wash makeup remover for a little over a month now. I bought this product just before I got my makeup done at the Benefit event in June. I was looking for a eye makeup remover at the time as I had recently run out of MAC Pro Eye Make Up Remover and it sadly wasn't instock. Needing a replacement  badly I browsed the many counters at Brown Thomas. I walked by the Bliss counter and  there I spotted their eye makeup remover. I was a bit skeptical about buying it at first. It's a bit pricey at €20. After having a chat with the sales assistant and being told a ample amount of times how amazing the product was. I decided to bite the bullet and bought it. Now almost a month later and half way through the bottle, this is the worse eye makeup remover I've ever come across. After being told how great it was so many times instore, I though it was going to be the next best thing. Sadly that certainly wasn't the case.

Lid +Lash Eye Wash Makeup Remover is a cool gel formula that comes in a plastic bottle with a pump. Like most makeup removers you apply one pump to a cotton pad and sweep all over your eye. After using this product my eyelashes were left stuck together with mascara. I had to dip cotton pads into cold water and apply them to my lashes just to get them separated ( looking normal again). I thought this was maybe bad luck so I've used this product a few times. Everytime I kept getting the same result which is shocking for an eye makeup remover that costs €20.  This has never happened to me before using a makeup remover maybe it's the fact that it's a gel formula. None the less I was left not impressed by this product one little bit. Bliss states on the bottle that this formula is for all skin types and non irritating. I don't think this would be the best for people suffering with sensitive eyes as I feel it's a quite heavy formula. I was unfortunate enough to get it in my eyes and it was the most painful experience ever.

Needless to say I won't be purchasing this product anytime soon. I doubt I'll even finish this one, I wouldn't want to put my poor eyelashes through it again. Definitely a bad buy on my behalf and I'll never make the same mistake and buy it again.

After ditching this product I've started using Loreal Paris Dermo-Expertise Gentle Eye Makeup Remover. I love this product, it's great and so inexpensive. It's for all skin types and gently removes every trace of eye makeup. I will be repurchasing this product as it's certainly a new favourite of mine.

What products do you wish you never bought??

He-Shi Fusion Multi Bronze Review

I've only started using bronzers recently (maybe in the last year). I know it's hard to believe. I love the way they can add a lovely natural glow to my skin while they can also be used for contouring.

When the He-Shi PR team offered to send me some of their products. I was so happy to see that one of them was their Fusion Multi Bronze.

Firstly, before I start the review I'm going to give you a bit of background on the company. He-Shi was set up by Mother and Daughter; Hilary and Shelly Mc Murray in Ireland in 2004. Seven years on, the company has become Ireland's leading tanning range and is known worldwide. It has also been featured in top magazines "Cosmopolitan" and "Marie Claire" just to name a few. Fusion Multi Bronze is just one of the amazing products from their range.

I started using this Fusion Multi Bronze a bit over a month ago. I have to say I've enjoyed using it. As well as being buildable it gives you a nice sheer finish. I'm pretty pale so the last thing I want is to look tangoed and I can safely say this has never happened with this product. Fusion Multi Bronze leaves you with a gorgeous natural glow which is perfect for during the daytime. There is shimmer in this bronzer but it isn't noticeable on the skin. The packaging of this product is very sturdy. I like this as the last thing I want is to see bronzer all over my bag.

This product is available in one shade which is suitable for all skin types and skin tones. It retails for €20 which I think  is good value for money as this product will last for ages.

As you can see in the picture above, I also recieved the He-Shi Bronzing Brush (€8.50). To be honest I only used this to apply the bronzer once. The bristles feel really scratchy which is not nice on the skin. I would definitely prefer it if it had softer bristles. You could use any powder brush in your collection and it would do just fine.

I have to say I loved He-Shi Fusion Multi Bronze. I was very impressed with it and I would repurchase it again.

Have you tried any products from the He-Shi range??

I was sent this product by the He-Shi PR Team to try out but  as always thoughts and views on the product are my own<3
