September Favourites

I find it so hard to believe it's October already. I feel like such an oldie when I say this year is going so fast. It's made even worse when I see Christmas decorations instore already. Halloween has not even come around yet. I've been delayed putting up this post but it's finally here... My October Favourites!

YSL Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils No1
I bought this mascara in duty free on holidays. I love how it gives my lashes so much added volume. People in work have commented on how nice they look too. The only thing I don't like about this mascara is the price tag, that's why I waited to get it in the airport. It's definitely only a product I'd treat myself to occasionally, other than that I'd wait til my next holiday.

Clean and Clear Skin Brightening Daily Facial Scrub
I got this product in my local pharmacy after seeing it was on special for €3. It's oil-free and is also very gentle on my skin which is a plus. I've just bought my second bottle of this stuff as I'm nearly all out. It has a gorgeous citrus scent.

Kerastase Elixir Ultime
Recently when I was getting my hair done I was given a sample of Kerastase Elixir Ultime. It contains a number of oils which nourish and condition the hair. I like it as it leaves my hair smooth and super shiny. I love it because it's a multi-use product that I can use as a deep conditioner and a finishing product.

Sigma F80 Brush
I've been using this brush for a quite a while now and I adore it. I'm surprise it hasn't featured in one of my 'favourites' posts already. I don't only use this to apply my foundation, but it's also great for applying my Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel (YAY finally got my hands on it!) This brush blends my foundation into my skin so well and it leaves me with a flawless finish.

Liz Earle Overnight Bag
I brought this Liz Earle Overnight bag to Barcelona with me. When I go away I always tend to bring too many travel size products with me. This was perfect as it had everything I could possibly need for my trip. I will be doing a full review on this soon.

Korres Wild Rose Foundation
This is my favourite everyday foundation. I love how it looks so natural and how a little goes a long way. I just did a full review, you can check it out here.

Barcelona
This is the random favourite of the bunch. As you all know from reading recent posts, I went to Barcelona this month. I had such an amazing time in this lovely city. I wish I got to stay for longer than five days. Everything from the tourist attractions to the shopping were brilliant. I'm actually hoping to go back sometime in the New Year so watch this space.

What have you been loving in September??

A Shopaholic's Journey #6- Dublin Airport +Sephora

When I was in Dublin Airport heading for Barcelona I had a few things in mind that I wanted to get in Duty Free. I try to make a little list before my holidays as I find the prices are much better there. Dublin Airport have a system, Shop & Collect were you can pick up your purchases when you get pack from holidays. I used this service as with my carry on luggage I didn't have much space.

These are the Duty Free products I purchased....

MAC Studio Careblend/Pressed Powder in Medium
MAC Paint Pot in Rubenesque
MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study

Yves Saint Laurent Travel Selection 'All For Eyes'
 contains
Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils
Touche Eclat
Mini Eye Makeup Remover

At the start of La Rambla in Barcelona I spotted a Sephora. I've never been to one and I have to admit I was blown away by all the makeup. I heard the stores in America are bigger and better so I'll have to visit one the next time I'm there.
Almost all the products I purchased are from Sephora's own brand and one is from Bourjois.

Bourjois Smile Enhancing Gloss in Rose Bright

Sephora Purse Spray in Pineapple Grenadine
Sephora Sun Disk Bronzing Powder in Light
Sephora Lip Atitude Lipstick in Rosy Mad (not pictured)

Sephora MoonshadowTrio in Sunbaked
Sephora 4 Shadows and Liner Palette in Almost Nude
Sephora Long Lasting Eyeshadow in Carine (Hollysayshey on YouTube recommended this eyeshadow to me and I love it.)

On the last day of our trip my boyfriend surprised me with these lovely gifts. I was surprised to see 'The Body Shop' was in Barcelona.

Yves Rocher Yellow Peach Eau De Toilette
Yves Rocher Vanilla Nourishing Lip Balm
The Body Shop 100% Natural Lip Roll On in Orange

I've never heard of the brand Yves Rocher. I love these two products, the lipbalm is amazing and smells gorgeous.

I haven't used much of these products yet but I'll let you know my thoughts on them soon.

Is there any products you'd like to see a review on??

FOTD- Barcelona Style

As I said in my 'Barcelona, I love you' post I only wore makeup on my first day in Barcelona. It was considerably hot and humid so I thought it was pointless to wear any as it just melted away by the end of the day.

I decided to opt for a natural look and went for neutral brown shadows.

Face
Too Faced Primed & Poreless Primer
Korres Wild Rose Foundation in WRF1
Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette
MAC Studio Careblend/Pressed Powder in Medium
The Body Shop Honey Bronzer Bronzing Powder in Medium Matte

Eyes
MAC Paint Pot in Painterly
Revlon Custom Eyes Palette in Naturally Glamourous
Smashbox Limitless Eyeliner in Java
Collection 2000 Super Size Fat Lash Mascara

Lips
Too Faced Glamour Gloss in Barely Legal

I really loved this look as it was so simple!!

Barcelona, I love you!!

After five brilliant days in Barcelona with the boyfriend we arrived home on Sunday. The weather was great while we were there maybe a bit too warm at times. I'm not going to complain though as it was a much better change from the doom and gloom of Dublin.

We squeezed in visiting famous tourist attractions as well as doing a spot of shopping (coming up in a separate post). Our hotel, Ciutat del Prat was beautiful, it was a short metro ride away from Passeig de Gracia (major avenue and shopping area) and La Rambla. I went to Sagrada Familia and Casa Batllo, two of Gaudi's designs. The architecture of the buildings are amazing and like nothing I've ever seen before. I could see why everyone loves this City.

I had such an amazing time in Barcelona. I would go back in a heartbeat and it's a place I'd recommend to anyone to visit. I found the people so friendly and helpful. Your almost guaranteed fabulous weather too. I only wore makeup once when I was over there as it was so humid. At night, I hardly came home with makeup on my face anyway.

The only downside of my holiday was getting tonnes of insect bite. I didn't notice how bad they were until I got home. After sitting in pain for a day, I ventured down to the doctor only to be told that I had an reaction to the bites! Boo!! Now I'm on a few different antibiotics so hopefully I'm on the mend.

Here are a few photos of my holiday....

Have you been to Barcelona? How did you like it?
